"Rescue: ABOUT TIME!!"

Lt. Serenity Jackson and Commander Rhea Kennit

Serenity had gotten the go. A reluctant GO but a go none the less. The Co-ordinates had been given and her team stepped onto the transporter PADD. "Energize."

The sun was almost gone, and the sky overhead had grown dark. No stars were visible, the low overhanging clouds obscured everything. A fog had rolled in as the sun set, shrouding everything in a thick rolling mist which gave an eerie tone to the night. Rhea had slid down from the rock she had been sitting on to rest on the ground, using the smooth rounded boulder as a backrest. She was shivering in the cold night air, her arms wrapped around her side in the hope that pressure on her injured ribs would somehow help ease the pain. "Thi.is.. Really..suu..uuckss.." she said through chattering teeth.

Behind her, also shaking and cold Torme grunted an agreement to her. BOth of them had been very hopeful of being rescued before the cold of night arrived in full force. Continuing to speak, both to keep herself awake and to help keep them both focused and alert Rhea added, "I cou..uld use a ni..ce coo..fff.ff..ee."

Sere's team had appeared behind them. "Someone say Coffee?" Serenity asked as she lead her team forward. They spread out to cover. "Hello Commander, ready to go home?" she asked.

The XO jumped half out of her skin, she'd been shaking so badly and was so worn out from the questioning she'd been put through she hadn't even heard the humm of the transporter. Grimacing in pain as her sudden sharp movement and startled yelp had sent fresh pain through her ribs, she recovered as she recognized Sere and answered, "Hell yes! Wh..what t..t..took so long.."

"The Captain. He was very wishy washy. I think it has something to do with the new female cheif tactical officer.. since she showed he has not been saying much." She waved the medics over. "Help them and we will get back to Victory" They nodded and her team got to work.. Once everyone was standing she hit her comm badge. " Victory, engerise direct to medical"

[Aye] And with that they were.

Standing up had been a whole lot harder than she remembered it being, and as soon as the transporter beam released them Commander Kennit had allowed herself to be eased back to a bio bed where she half sighed in relief, and half gasped in pain as her much abused muscles and ribs protested once again.

The docs swarmed over Kennit and Torme and the rescue team backed off. "Get well Commander" Serenity said with a smile.

Kennit nodded wearily, her eyes closing as she felt the welcome hiss and faint sting of a hypospray easing away the pain and letting her body relax finally as the warmth in the sickbay began to seep through her chilled form.

Sere left sickbay before they could pin her down as well. She'd be back later once she reported to the captain.
